HRH was slow to wake this morning but the rain and wind is no issue for the intrepid punters who are fuelled and primed for day two. The opening of the second stage has the clash finders in operation as the decision on whether to watch the up and coming bands or the bigger names is at the front of everyone’s mind.
We spent a long day interviewing those up and coming bands but managed to see the action across both venues. With bands who have only just been added to the bill such as NAKED SIX, to the mighty SAXON (the detectives among you may know the connection) playing today, there were a few bands we really wanted to catch.
One of the hottest tickets around just now are VOODOO BLOOD and their show on stage 2 was the talk of the festival. The band are on the verge of a new album and their live set is simply amazing with vocalist Kim Jennett roaming the stage and threatening to enter the crowd at any moment. ANCHOR LANE and THE DUST CODA gave the usual good accounts of themselves on stage 2 and drew a good audience whilst legends GIRLSCHOOL played the main arena.
SAXON were consistently good and drew a capacity crowd in the main arena that saw late arrivals being turned away. EVERYDAY HEROES arrived for their graveyard shift with a concern they wouldn’t see the numbers that earlier bands had enjoyed. Their concerns were unfounded as it happened with a healthy crowd waiting back to see another standout performance of the day.
