CROSSLIGHT are completely new to me and as I press play on the first track I'm hoping its not yet another pop-rock (emphasis on the pop) tame and generic track…and it's not TFFT. 'Run Into
Flowers' has a booming intro and vocals dripping with attitude, a very catchy hook and a funky guitar solo. This is an upbeat and feisty alt rock track and I like it!
"This song is important to me because it was one of the first I wrote for the band. I wrote it in a dark place, so it’s great to hear it fully recorded and seeing how far it’s come." - Luke James Litherland, Guitarist and songwriter.
'Kingdom Is Mine' is my favourite song though, with a dramatic bass line, powerful vocal melodies and soaring choruses, it's punchy and full of angst; "I finally know who I am…" It's sharp but not bleak or bitter, and a great example of a young band with a touch of zing.
From Nottingham, Crosslight are an alt rock band with influences including Foo Fighters and Biffy Clyro, so you know it'll have an edge but not be too heavy. The band formed in 2016 and have toured the length of the country to get their music heard. Their debut album, 'Road To Recovery', is out now.
Well worth a listen.
