HEY GIGANTIC - Colours (Single)

MARIA GLOVER

The irresistibly catchy HEY GIGANTIC are from South London, started by four good friends who went to university together, brought together by a mutual love of Indie Rock, Punk and Hardcore. Having first got together in 2013 they only really became an official band in the last few years. 'Colours' is their first release of 2018 and was recorded with producer Neil Kennedy (Creeper).

The track starts with the most beautiful repetitive riff which instantly blew me away, Bateman's distinctive alt rock vocals entering to accompany the music and leading to a huge singalong chorus which you get immersed in. The vocals are passionate in conveying the agony of wrongly walking away from a relationship then realising it's too late, and it’s deliciously harmonious.

The whole track is well-crafted and stunning, the melodies sublime and a sure fire summer soundtrack.

Hey Gigantic are an alt rock band to watch! There is a slight sound of The Killers to parts but mainly this is FFO You Me At Six and Twin Atlantic. Apparently this song has had several edits and reworkings and the quality is evident. Definitely one to have a listen to. Love it.

Band:

Jonathan Bateman (lead vocals and bass)

Matt Nicholson (backing vocals and guitar)

Jonny Haylock (guitar) and

Jon Moon (backing vocals and drums)
