The Wildhearts Announced As
Saturday Headliner
Call Of The Wild Festival
Cumbria: 24th - 26th May 2019

Call Of The Wild Festival 2019 has just upped the stakes on an already amazing line-up, confirming that rock legends 'The Wildhearts' will be the Saturday headliner.  With over 20 years as a leading UK export, Saturday at Call Of The Wild just got wilder!

From their entrance in 1993 with 'Earth VS...' which cemented their claim as Britpop destroying rockers from day one, The Wildhearts have consistently released great music, entertained fans across the world and have done more than their share at encouraging new talent to rise up - an ethos Call Of The Wild share with passion!

Festival organisers Raz While & Dave O'Hara had the following to say about securing The Wildhearts for Call Of The Wild:

"We are absolutely thrilled that The Wildhearts accepted our offer to perform at the inaugural Call of the Wild Festival. In the truest spirit of Rock n Roll there is no other band on the entire planet that we would wish for to headline the Saturday night.

Being lifelong fans of the band, this is truly an honour for us.".

In the unlikely event that you've not experienced The Wildhearts, check out the video for Suckerpunch, which is taken from the bands' first album Earth Vs The Wildhearts. Raw, powerful and highly entertaining, make sure you see The Wildhearts at Call Of The Wild 2019.

And there's more...

Alongside the Saturday headliner, we have a host of other bands that have been added to the weekends festivities!

Joining the festival all the way from Norway, Razorbats are going to be bringing their punky, glam rock to Cumbria. Having released their second album, 'II' earlier in 2018 you can be sure that the bands international acclaim will be a great addition to Call Of The Wild.

Hailing from Cumbria, COLT 45 are returning from a brief haitus, Adam Lewis from the band has explained why Call Of The Wild is a perfect match for the bands' return.

"We're really excited about the Call of the Wild show already - it'll be our first proper show after nearly a year off from the band.  We've enjoyed some downtime, but we'll be raring to go - and playing this brand new event right on our doorstep in beautiful Cumbria ticks all the boxes.  There's so much talent in the region and it's awesome that local acts have the opportunity to step up and play alongside more established names and build their fanbase and experience.  It'll be great to catch up with some old friends and check out some bands we haven't seen before too. There'll be plenty more to come from us in 2019 - keep an eye out!"

As if Call Of The Wild isn't already great enough, with The Virginmarys, The Wildhearts and the host of great bands already announced, there are also another 17(!!!) bands added to the celebration.

Mansfield's WitchTripper are going to give those in attendance an unhealthy dose of their full-on groove-laden, shred'n'roll. Go watch State Of Mind now!

London based alt-rockers The Kut are having a great year, with their album hitting the charts, their self-described 'basement rock' is probably moving to the penthouse sometime soon. Check out Mind Games.

Heavy riffing stoner rockers Drudge have just played Bloodstock New Blood stage, check out Cosmic Goddess to see why they earned the spot!

Scotland's Tantrum bring classic British Heavy Metal to Call Of The Wild. Championing the new wave of old school, check out N.W.O.B.H.M, if you can listen to this and not bang your head, there's something wrong!

West Yorkshire based Hellbound Hearts will be bringing their grungey hard rock to the stage. A rising band, these are ones to check out. See their Broken Hearted Video.

Also, from West Yorkshire are Bad Pollyanna with the sublime vocals of Olivia Hyde, you can expect to be blown away by these guys! Check out Monstrous Child now!

Burnt Out Wreck will be delivering a slice of bluesy classic rock, fronted by former Heavy Pettin' drummer Gary Moat, check out their recent release Flames.

From Belfast, Baleful Creed like their rockin heavy & that's what they'll be bringing across the water. Check out the rifftastic Devil's Side.

Retro rock driven blues will be offered by The Sourheads. Wakefield will be missing these guys while they rock Call Of The Wild, you can get your groove on early to Don't Get Caught (I Am The Lotus).

Basingstoke posse The Black Bullets bring their punky rock'n'roll and dirty licks to raise the temperature and the roof. Watch the video for DOLLS.

Newcastle NWOCR rising stars Tomorrow is Lost will be wowing the festival crowd in much the same way they've done up and down the country during their short career. This band only get better, check out We Are The Lost.

Bradford & Leeds is honoured to call Stand Alone their export, and we're delighted to be importing their rifftastic rock to Call Of The Wild. Check out Save You.

Voted number 10 on Planet Rock Top 20 albums of 2017 for their self-titled debut, Samarkind demand your attention! Check Out Sun Stroke Heart for a slice of their contemporary bluesy classic rock.

A key component for Call Of The Wild is to give a showcase to local and smaller bands the opportunity to get on stage with festival regulars. Announced so far are:
Hot Hot Death are loud and unrelenting hardcore/punk. Check out their first track Howl. With a distinctly 90s tinge to their sound, Droll Man can be experienced by watching Pennies Worth. Penrith's Beachmaster serve their genre-crossing alternative rock in style, check out Wreckhead. Brocken Spectre's noise art rock, bring something different to the line-up. Be sure to check them out, do so now with Drive By Election.

The first official sponsor for the festival is Cloven Hoof, creators and purveyors of the finest Spiced Rum. With their own stage, this means even more room for brilliant talent to be on display.

Cloven Hoof owner Paul Stanley says:

The line up is special - we’ve raised the Hoof with most of the bands, so we simply had to be a part, and to have the second stage named The Cloven Hoof stage is genuinely a real honour. Looking at the forecast, you’ll be using it mostly for shade from the blazing sunshine this year! We also have some of the worlds very best independent food traders - from firm favourites Smokin Hot Tamales with their stunning burritos to new additions Paelleria & Squid Inc. For all you veggie vegans we have returnees Manjula Catering & brand new Seitans Grill. Just announced...

Call Of The Wild has just announced a new raft of bands that will be gracing the stage at the festival, new additions are:

A Jokers Rage are bringing their winning mix of powerhouse rock, hugely memorable tunes and a delivery not unlike being trampled by a herd of dinosaurs with their haemorrhoids on fire.

Assembled from parts lying around Melbourne in 2012, Australia’s Massive are a volatile macho-rock engine fueled on adrenaline, lager and a determination to party hard. Known to travel thousands of miles across the baking desert between gigs, these riot-starting, fist swinging road dogs mean business.

Hailing from Northern Ireland, Trucker Diablo are set to bring their huge stadium quality sound to Call Of The Wild. With 3 full-length albums and a couple of EP’s under their belt, this band isn’t just road tested, it smashed the road and rebuilt it!

The King Lot are descending on the festival from Central Scotland, currently working their 2nd album, these guys have played around the UK with bands such as The Answer, Inglorious, FM, Big Country, Dan Reed Network, Electric Boys, Beasto Blanco, The Last Vegas, Vain, H.E.A.T., Supercharger, Thundermother, Love/Hate, Quireboys, Venrez.

Proving that 2 heads are just as good as five, Rival Bones will be serving their raucous hard rock to the masses at Call Of The Wild. These guys have turned enough heads to land a slot at the Isle Of Wight Festival 2018. and we know they’ll rock the stage with us next May.

Stevie R Pierce & The Hooligans, as a member of Warrior Soul and guitarist for Jizzy Pearl’s Love/Hate, it’s hard to fathom how Stevie R Pierce has time for a solo career! But along with his Hooligans, he’s making music that stands tall, with a distinct raw sound & classic UK flavour.

Being imported from Italy, Speed Stroke add a touch of Sleaze to their Hard Rock.  RIffs aplenty, and smothered with a healthy dose of attitude, expect blazing guitars, soaring vocals and probably a bandana or two!

Previously announced bands for the first Call Of The Wild are:

The Virginmarys as Friday night headliners. The Macclesfield punk rockers formed in 2009 and have toured all over the world with the likes of Slash, Shinedown, Terrorvision, Skunk Anansie, Eagles of Death Metal, The View, Ash, Feeder, Queens Of The Stone Age and We Are Scientists, as well as playing their own headline gigs throughout UK, Europe, US and Japan.

Atlanta based rockers Kickin Valentina with their highly anticipated UK arrival.

Celebrating 20 years of rockin', Bullets & Octane (Los Angeles) release their new album “Waking Up Dead”  25th May worldwide and will be sure to bring the 'wild' to Call Of The Wild.

Rising rockstars Falling Red continue the hard-rockin' party, making the festival their only Cumbrian show of 2019. They'll be raising the proverbial roof as a local band at Call Of The Wild.

Bringing their rock n roll with a punk soul attitude, Leeds based The Idol Dead will be ripping up the stage, after gaining a reputation as one of the hardest-working DIY bands in the UK right now.

And the final band being announced are the hot property, Digital Criminals. who will be raising hell with their rocky pop-punk from across the border in Wales,

Committed to showcasing huge sounds and high energy performances, the line-up will shake the very foundations of the historic location of Call Of The Wild's inaugural festivities

ARCTANGENT FESTIVAL || 21 More Bands Announced 16th/17th/18th August 2018, Bristol

Tickets On Sale Now

ArcTanGent Festival have today announced a massive 21 new bands for the 3 days festival, set on Fernhill Farm, 16th-18th August 2018 to joining headliners And So I Watch You From afar, Glassjaw & Shellac.

“Today we’re announcing 21 bands and I’m excited that this adds a real strength in depth to the ATG line up. What am I most excited about? Well we’ve commissioned Pijn & Conjurer to work together on a top secret project– I’m certain it will be amazing. Also Taka from MONO is bringing his Behind the Shadow Drops project which features some truly spell-binding visuals. Everyone should head straight to our Spotify playlist now and check out the treats we have in store for themselves – my personal recommendations are Jean Jean, møl and Black Futures. Roll on the summer!”  says James Scarlett, organiser.

Pijn & Conjurer have been working away on a special collaboration they’re calling ‘Curse These Metal Hands’.

"When ATG & Holy Roar approached us to do a collaboration, it was something that hadn't really occurred to either band. We'd played a few shows together and were certainly mutual fans but we had to sit down and really think about whether this was feasible. After a pretty intense 12 hours of jamming and writing, we emerged with a track that will form the basis of our performance with the rest currently being written. This sounds nothing like either band and is arguably more expansive and ambitious than either of us have gone before - we're honoured to have been asked to contribute to ATG 2018 and are excited to bring something new to the most exciting festival in the UK." says Conjurer

Joining the amazing Conjurer and Pjin are Canterbury sludge metal titans, OHHMS. The debut album, 'The Floor' was released last year on Holy Roar, who of course have a stage at the Festival.

Japan's Mouse on the Keys, who have a unique sound of drums, two pianos, and two keyboards to combine the sense of urgency from rock, hardcore and heavy metal with tastes of early/contemporary classical, jazz and various dance music.
At their shows, the band projects a variety of images chosen to match their sound ―views of Tokyo, geometric symbols, 3D objects, and abstractions. Residents of Tokyo, the members of Mouse on the Keys represent the haunting restlessness of their home city at their live appearances.

Other international bands include American band Tides of Man, an instrumental indie rock band will be playing ATG Festival for the first time this year.  Australia's Plini and møl a shoegaze/metal band from Denmark. These bands will join a whole host of amazing talent from the UK.

We have also added the very last of the tickets to the store so after this lot have gone that it most definitely it! Click on ticket information below to book now.

Have a rockin' and egg rollin' Easter Weekend.

We are delighted to have Jagermeister on board for WinterStorm XVIII and they have agreed to support us on the second stage for this year. It's one of those areas that surprised us so much we have started using it as a live venue year round but more of that later...

This year we are taking a more co-ordinated view of the stage and it will be programmed and promoted in advance reflecting the upping of its status and we reckon the small students' union type room will be rammed all day too!

This year will still feature a mixture of full band and acoustic but with maybe even more of a mix of styles than before.

HAMMERFEST XI HERALDS ITS FIRST WAVE OF METAL ACTS

Bookings are open for Hammerfest XI, so be swift lest you miss this raucous celebration of the finest Metal.

Once more, amidst Snowden’s landscape, the Rock-loving tribes of Hammerfest will gather at Camp HRH, Pwllheli, in North Wales, for the thunderous music that brings together friends and fellowship, steeped in the lore of Rock, where they share not just music, but adventure, energy, and shenanigans, all brought together by the peerless Hammerfest team. The festival takes place between Thursday 21st March and Sunday, 24th, 2019.

22 bands have now been announced, with MORE TO COME (including the Saturday night headliner)

Paradise Lost will headline Thursday night. Founded in Halifax, back in 1988 Paradise Lost are one of the most distinctive acts in Metal, in particular in Gothic Metal (which their music strongly defined) and in Doom Metal. Forged in Death Metal, Paradise Lost have gone on to explore more mainstream electronic dark-pop (e.g. their album ‘Host’), and added electronic influences on ‘Symbol Of Life’.

Throughout their career, the band has maintained its own vision and followed it with consistent passion.  The quartet of Nick Holmes (vocals), Greg Mackintosh and Aaron Aedy (guitars), and Steve Edmondson (bass) have remained together, with only the drummer’s post changing hands several times. Now fielding drum prodigy, 22-year-old Finn Waltteri Väyrynen, behind the kit, Paradise Lost are returning to the sounds of their origins. Hear this great band yourselves at Hammerfest XI.

Friday’s headliners are Overkill: an American thrash metal band, formed in 1980 in New Jersey. One of the most successful East Coast thrash metal bands, Overkill have been called "the Motörhead of thrash". To date, they’ve released eighteen studio albums, one album of cover songs, three EPs and three live albums. They were also one of the early thrash metal bands to sign to a major label (Atlantic Records, 1986), and rose to fame as part of the genre's late Eighties surge, along with bands such as Anthrax, Exodus, and Metallica.

So far, Hammerfest has already drawn together 22 bands for its 2019 line-up, including the above artists; also appearing will be: Pist*on, Reign of Fury, Sworn Amongst, Absolva, Kill ii This, Desert Storm, Boss Keloid, Old Corpse Road, Divine Chaos, Arkham Witch, Lifer, Ten Ton Slug, Gevauden, Ward XV1, The Injester, I saw the World Burn, Ashen Crown, Winter Storm, Krysthla, and Heathen Deity.

More are yet to be announced, including the Saturday headliner!

Remember: this is Hammerfest, so the gigs won’t be beset by bad weather or involve stomping though some muddy fields. HF lives up to HRH’s legendary standards: great bands, chosen by the community; quality gaffs with fully-equipped toilets, TV, fridges, heating and showers. Campervans can also be accommodated

Everything lies within a stone’s throw from the arenas and revelry. So get on board for another Hammerfest Quest for Metal.

UPRISING MAKE OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON FESTIVAL DETAILS

The Uprising team have made the decision to adapt the way the festival is presented to allow it to grow in the future.

The decision has been taken to move Uprising away from other large-scale rock events which can cause significant issues in booking artists appropriate to the venue and event. This gives Uprising the opportunity to book the bands YOU really want to see, which always has been and always will be the organisers main goal.

The event scheduled for May will now be focusing on the Metal 2 The Masses final and will also pride itself in showcasing some of the best Self-Signed and unsigned bands from around the country, some of which have graced most of the major UK festivals.

Organiser Simon Yarwood is feeling positive about these new changes and has commented:
“The Metal 2 The Masses Leicester Final is a key event in our calendar and will continue as planned at DeMontfort Hall on Saturday 26th May, with the overall winner progressing to play Bloodstock Festival 2018. The Iconic DeMontfort Hall has a long history of hosting metal and rock events, and will always remain the centre of Uprising, with other venues in Leicester making up fringe style events during the weekend.”

Looking further ahead, the organisers have already been in discussion with De Montfort Hall about additional gig dates through the remainder of the year and have also held outline talks about the potential expansion to an annual outdoor event once the infrastructure works are completed at the hall this summer.

Organiser Matt Kirk explains:
“Uprising is already a staple in the UK’s rock and metal scene, and we now want to build on those solid foundations and have the scope to not only give you the headliners you want, but also expand the capacity size of the festival/ We look forward to bigger and better Uprising events in the future.”

The acts currently playing across the weekend are:
Crazyhead
Garganjua
Krysthla
Sumer
The Crawling
In Search Of Sun
Raised By Owls
Internal Conflict
Footprints In The Custard
King Leviathan
Blood Oath
Dog Tired
Winter Storm
Stormbringer

More acts to be announced at a later date.

ARCTANGENT FESTIVAL

SECOND WAVE OF BANDS ANNOUNCED
16TH /17TH / 18TH AUGUST 2018, BRISTOL

GLASSJAW & SHELLAC ANNOUNCED AS HEADLINERS
PELICAN TO PLAY UK EXCLUSIVE

MAIN STAGE OPEN ON THE THURSDAY FOR THE FIRST TIME
WITH HEADLINERS, 'AND SO I WATCH YOU FROM AFAR'

TICKETS ON SALE NOW

As previously announced by the 'Thats Not metal Podcast', the award winning ArcTanGent Festival have today announced 17 new bands for the 3 days festival, set on Fernhill Farm, 16th-18th August 2018 including headliners Glassjaw & Shellac.

Glassjaw will be the Friday night headliners, and will be welcomed to the festival for the first time.  Very few bands have the critical acclaim that Glassjaw have since they formed in the early 90's. They recently released the excellent album 'Material Control' to a rapturous response. This will be a festival exclusive for 2018.  Beck from the band simply said ""Shellac? Yes please." when asked if they were excited to headline. So that brings us nicely onto the next headliner.

Shellac should need no introduction. The trio, which includes legendary producer Steve Albini (Nirvana, PJ Harvey, Mogwai etc) will be yet another festival exclusive when they headline the Saturday night of ArcTanGent Festival.  "Since we’ve never been to the festival, I’m not sure what we could say about it other than that we’re looking forward to playing in Bristol. It’s nice there. Are there still a lot of road works going on?" Says Bob Weston from the band.  One of the most dynamic live bands around, their set will no doubt be one of most talked about in the festivals history.

“This feels like the biggest and best announcement we’ve ever done at ATG. Having Glassjaw and Shellac as main stage headliners will be amazing, but personally I’m also very excited about Pelican’s first visit to Fernhill Farm – it’s certainly long overdue.  I’d really urge people to check out our Spotify playlist. We put a huge amount of effort into curating a line up that has strength in depth from the top to the bottom – so go check out Telepathy. Check out Scalping. Check out Zeal & Ardor if you don’t know them. Check out them all!” says James Scarlett, organiser.

As James mentioned, the mighty Pelican will be joining us at Fernhill Farm after almost 2 years away from the UK.  You won't want to miss this exclusive.

Other incredible artists added to the already stellar line up are outlined below and you can listen on the ATG spotify:

La Dispute /  Arcane Roots / Alcest / Zeal & Ardor/
Black Peaks/  VENNART/  Delta Sleep / Telepathy / People Like Milk Products (Memory of Elephants & Chiyoda Ku Big Band) / Scalping / Wren / Jo Quail / VLMV / Vasquez

As previously announced, the main stage will be open on Thursday for the first time ever and headlined by ArcTanGent Festivals most requested band, 'And So I Watch You From Afar'. The Northern Irish instrumental rock band will be returning to the festival for the fourth time and are playing 'The Endless Shimmering' in its entirety.

2000trees FESTIVAL 2018 first announcement is HERE! Taking place on Thurs 12th/Fri 13th/Sat 14th July - Tickets on sale Thursday 1st Feb

The line up announcement happened last night on the Radio 1 Rock Show,
listen back - HERE

The 3 day festival will have the Thursday main stage open for the first ever time, with incredible headliners, and as a UK festival exclusive - At The Drive In

ALSO announced last night on the
Radio 1 Rock Show were:

Creeper, Basement, Arcane Roots, Hell Is For Heroes, Touche Amore, Turbowolf and
Gold Key

Another HUGE announcement, including another headliner, to take place on Weds 31st Jan with Kerrang! Magazine

Happening on Thursday 12th July/Friday 13th July/Saturday 14th July, 2000trees Festival 2018 is GO! GO! GO!

The first headliners for the hugely loved, Cheltenham set, fantastic green fields festival - which recently won its fifth national award and widespread critical acclaim - were announced exclusively last night on the Radio 1 Rock Show with Daniel P Carter, and they are the one and only, the exceptional
AT THE DRIVE IN, playing a 2018 UK festival exclusive set!

From AT THE DRIVE IN drummer Tony Haijar -

"We are super excited to being playing the 2000trees Festival this year. With the whole festival atmosphere changing in general, it is great to be part of something that still supports rock bands."

The band will be playing the 2000trees Festival for the very first time, and will headline the Thursday main stage. This will be the first time in the events 12 year history that bands will be playing on the main stage on the Thursday, making 2000trees festival in 2018 a full 3 day event. Look out for more of the bands for the Thursday main stage very soon.

From festival organiser James Scarlett - “We’re very excited to announce that 2000trees Festival is now a full 3 day festival and for the first time ever we’ll be opening our main stage on the Thursday. I can’t think of a better way to do this than with our headliners AT THE DRIVE IN. Let’s not forget that this is a band that released arguably the most important rock album of the last 20 years (with 'Relationship Of Command') and influenced literally ALL our favourite bands in the process. That’s before I even mention their live show. The band are absolutely on fire right now, touring with the also brilliant Royal Blood on their recent UK dates together. At 2000trees Festival they’ll be playing a full length headline set and I for one cannot wait!”

AT THE DRIVE IN this year at 2000trees Festival are:

From CREEPER front man Will Gould - "We are thrilled to be returning to 2000trees Festival this year, one of the first festivals we ever played together as a band. We have such fond memories of the festival from playing our first year in a tent and also from playing on the main stage. We’re very excited to be a part of this wonderful festival and can’t wait to return."

From ARCANE ROOTS front man Andrew Groves - "2000trees Festival has always been the highlight in our calendar since our band began, and has long felt like the spiritual home for our music. During it's creation, we frequently envisioned playing Melancholia Hymns live there, and now, safe to say, we're working doubly hard to put on the very best show that we can.  A show that, rest assured, will never be without a surprise or two. We cannot wait to return this year and bring our music home again."

From Will McGonagle (HELL IS FOR HEROES) - "2000trees Festival always has the best lineups, and we’re proud to be part of this year’s bill. We’re looking forward to seeing loads of bands, and of course playing some of our favourite tunes too. We might even have something new to play."

TO ADD TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT - On Weds 31st January we will also be announcing the Saturday main stage headliner along with 9 other brilliant bands for this years festival, all exclusively with Kerrang! Magazine.

WILDFIRE ANNOUNCE FIRST 20 BANDS FOR 2018!

Something old, something new, something stoner, and heavy blues.
Yes, Wildfire Festival is back in 2018 with 3 stages, over 70 acts and a host of great new, established and emerging rock, metal talent.

Tonight we give you our first 20 names for 2018, and start with NWOBHM legends LIONHEART! Formed in 1980, this classic rock act consists of current and former members of Iron Maiden, MSG, UFO and Shy, with their combined performance sure to raise the roof on the weekend of 22-24 June. They will be joined by fan favourites - and making their first Wildfire headline performance - MASSIVE WAGONS.
From the Northwest through Wales and all the way to Italy 2018 sees a long awaited return for Falling Red, a debut for FLORENCE BLACK, and a first time Scottish festival appearance for Italian rockers DOBERMANN. Robb Wylde (Tigertailz) also makes a Wildfire debut with MIDNITE CITY.
EMPYRE, THEIAuk and CAIRO SUN make a welcome return, and we are stoked to introduce you to Billy Taylor's (Inglorious) latest project, DEEVER.

We are not done yet! HELLBOUND HEARTS are back with a bang and alongside WITCH TRIPPER, RITUAL KING, WESTERN SAND, TOMORROW IS LOST, THE NEW BREED and TAROT RATS, we think we have something for everyone.
But if you thought we had finished, we can get LOUDER STILL and we conclude with the first of many Scottish bands for 2018 with SAUZA KINGS.

Our last few early bird/Christmas gift tickets are available at ridiculously cheap prices. We hope to have another update out in the next week or so, so watch this space and get your tickets today from www.wildfirefestival.co.uk.
Thank you and keep rockin!
