LUNA KISS are a Coventry based band and their fans are called luna-tics (brilliant, isn’t it?). LUNA KISS have several EPs in the past few years, culminating with their much anticipated album, ‘Following Shadows’, due for release in April.

Now – about this track, ‘Not Afraid’. The intro is a beautiful melody and you won’t be sure where it’s going to take you. Then the drums and gritty guitar riff kick in. It’s a song that invites you to lose yourself in it. It’s not a ballad or thumping heavy metal, but it is definitely a sound that is full of energy and has a clear focus on originality. The chorus and backing vocals are just perfect to be honest, showcasing Wil Russell’s range and fearless delivery. The song changes pace several times and listeners will go from bouncing around the place to closing their eyes and feeling the pain in every word and maybe even feeling inspired.

LUNA KISS list their influences as Radiohead or Biffy Clyro, but I think they are doing themselves an injustice here. Their sound is much more than that and given the resurgence of classic rock and legendary bands from the 70’s still producing great music, their reach will be potentially far greater.

The ‘Following Shadows’ launch party is in May in Coventry – make sure you get there. Check out their tour dates for March on their website http://www.lunakiss.co.uk/

The band:
