THE HOT ONE TWO - Tie Me Down (Single)

Fuck yeah!! Now this is what I’m talking about! I turned it up as soon as I was a few seconds in and had a smile on my face the whole way through and I was humming the tune long after it finished. But enough about me, let’s get into an actual review here, even though I’ve pretty much nailed my colours to the mast already.

THE HOT ONE TWO are a five-piece outfit from Cambridge, and when you hear ‘Tie Me Down’, it’s evident that these guys are into their heavy rock and guitar solos, driven by the attitude needed to survive today’s music industry and enticing another generation to enjoy real talent, not just computer generated drivel. FYI, DTFM featured them on our recent podcast (Episode #111 -, so do check it out.

I really enjoyed Chivers on the drums (even though I’m addicted to bass), right from the thumping start. There is a proper heavy riff throughout, transforming itself to complimentary, proper good old fashioned guitar solos, and with Simon West giving it sox on the vocals, it sews up the entire song, delivering something that may be inspired by rock giants of the past few decades, but still fresh new sound. The lyrics might put a cheeky grin on your face too (the title might be a bit of a giveaway lads).

‘Tie Me Down’ is a song that aims to get the listener hooked and it works. I have a feeling we will be hearing a lot more about THE HOT ONE TWO and bring it on. They are supporting Gin Annie on 8th June in Route 44, Birmingham, a gig not to be missed.
