The long-awaited next single from Sheffield's own FEAR LIES is released 6th September alongside a headline show at the O2 in the city. As a big fan of the band, I've been waiting for more from them since Tramlines last year when they teased me with a hint of new music, and they are set to follow up the single with an EP - name and date to be announced.

Formed in 2013, the band released debut album 'Elements' in 2015 but life got in the way, and family and work commitments have meant they haven't been as prolific in the last couple of years as they had hoped but this is well worth the wait.

'Rain' is a grumbling juggernaut which bursts info life, voracious and vibrant, a glimpse into heartbreak in a very real and emotional way. The deepest vocals of Ben Orrah are well accompanied with tight instrumentals, impressive guitars and an incessant drumbeat from Jim Hockney.

This is the stadium-quality rock n roll I have come to expect from FEAR LIES, cerebral and powerful with an anthemic chorus, "wash away my heartache" -  such a welcome return.

Tickets for the O2 show are on sale now via https://fearlies.bandcamp.com/or
