Keighley’s aggressive pop/alternative rock/genre leaping As Sirens Fall have had a fantastic campaign for their second EP, ‘Where Lost Things Go’, and have just released the final single from that EP: ‘She Runs With The Wolves’.
‘She Runs With The Wolves’ sums up this band’s whole ethos – to be yourself to a fault and to survive at all costs. Written in memory of someone very close to the band, the song feels like an upbeat, technicolour eulogy. Designed to motivate and inspire self-love and acceptance, there’s a retro feel to the verses and a break-neck, soaring chorus hook followed by a huge key change carried by Mikey Lord’s fervent vocals.
“I think She Runs With The Wolves is one of our favourites. It used to sound like ‘Purple Rain meets Whitney Houston’, and initially it didn’t make the cut. After the person it was written for passed away, we decided to bring it back and to challenge ourselves by throwing all creative confines to the wind and to turn it into a more positive song with a message that truly encapsulated ‘us’. I think it is the perfect end to Where Lost Things Go and it only seemed right to give the song a video before we moved on to the next project.” – Mikey Lord.
The video for ‘She Runs With The Wolves’, much like the other videos from ‘Where Lost Things Go’, is a standalone concept. It is based on the notion that in the dying of the light, when people come together and support each-other, they can make their own light.
‘Where Lost Things Go’ is an EP that showcases this band’s diversity. Sprinting from influence to influence, the release includes notes of Radiohead and David Bowie through to My Chemical Romance, Queen, The Used and U2. The result is a dynamic sonic adventure that Small Music Network hailed as ‘nothing short of sensational.’
As Sirens Fall is comprised of Mikey Lord, Adam Doveston and Jason Doveston.
