THECITYISOURS release new track 'Bare Bones' + announce new album
‘LOW’ OUT AUGUST 2ND 2019
THECITYISOURS are excited to share their ferocious new track “Bare Bones”(Featuring Connor Hallisey of Our Hollow, Our Home) taken from their forthcoming album “LOW” set for release August 2nd, 2019.
“Every band goes through hardships… Ours very nearly pushed us to breaking point. Before writing this record, we took the time to reflect on why we were doing this in the first place. As a band, we have always worn our hearts on our sleeves and written about events that have impacted our lives, so what we want most is to make a positive impact on the people around us and new people we meet.
Bare Bones was the first track we wrote with this new attitude and it symbolised a fresh start for the band. The song is about taking the obstacles we’ve faced, along with the metaphorical ashes of who we were and rebuilding ourselves. It’s about accepting what’s happened in the past and moving on, whilst still appreciating what has been. - Mikey Page
On “LOW”, THECITYISOURS take an introspective look at mental health and self-betterment; combining heartfelt lyrics and impassioned melodies with a gigantic serving of neck cranking riffs. Recorded, engineered, mixed and mastered by Oz Craggs (Feed The Rhino, NECK DEEP, Mallory Knox) atHidden Track Studios in Folkestone, Kent, “LOW” is a truly empowering record that will leave you ready to take on whatever the world throws at you.
“In a social climate where mental health, particularly in Males, is often treated as a taboo subject, we felt it was important to take an honest and sincere approach when putting this album together. These songs have been our coping mechanism for some of the most difficult times in our lives, but also a huge lesson that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, even in the darkest moments.
We wanted to empower the ideology that it is okay to be vulnerable, it’s okay to be honest about your emotions and nobody is alone in feeling this way, even if it seems that they are. We hope people can interpret these songs in their own way and experience the same comfort we have in creating ‘LOW’.” - Mikey page
